Warsaw or Warschau photos
Yes, it is puzzling why that same pile of bricks shows up. I have seen more fotos of it also that I didn't post. Maybe it was the location? Near other popular foto spots and every soldier needs a blown up building picture in 1940 to send back home?
The foto from Allegro -- interesting foto - did you notice the man getting his papers checked?
These two are from that are on sale on ebay. The man is Feldgredarmerie. One of the better train station fotos. Probably Summer 1942.

Photo warsaw 2.jpg - maybe a gas tanks near Ludna (Powiśle)?stcamp wrote:I am going to have to stop posting fotos as I have almost used up my space quota.
These are the latest from my collection. I left the sellers watermark on them as I don't like repeated scanning of these old fotos.
These are different from all the others. One looks like a water tower? The burning house I don't understand. The one of the building with the garage bays is I think a Gendarmerie building. The other is somewhere in old town by the look of the lamp post.

IMHO Last photo is the ruins of Palce of Lubomirski Family, not the Monument of Unknown Soldier (This was the border of Warsaw Ghetto)stcamp wrote:More of the ghetto area. Early 1940 & 1941. Also one of the Jewish cemetary.
Last foto is the monument of the unknown soldier(1914:1918) Not in the getto itself.
This is not Warsaw for sure.polskifone wrote:OK, my last post before my vacation. This is labelled as Warsaw too... I don't recognise the bridge. I would sugest that the span was blown at the same time as the "Poniatowski" pictures above. The river is wide... is it Warsaw? Dunno!
Will try to look that up while I'm away aswell.
Back in two weeks. Happy Posting.
Best Regards, Mark Ostrowski.
IMHO this is photo of Warsaw ghetto children waiting for food, which schould be throw outside of the ghetto wall. (sorry for my English its very rusty)stcamp wrote:From ebay: I was outbid which is happening way to often lately.
I don't think Santa Claus is on the other side of the wall. Probably 1941.
3 from ebay and 1 I actually won. The people waiting in line are not going anywhere good I dont think. The body was not uncommon from what I read. At first they were covered with newspaper but so many died that they were left as is until the wagon came by.
