Could be Prinze Eugen as it had 40mm Bofors (4 cm/56 Flak 28)

Mmmhhh.....I don`t think so...The turret seems much more larger and besides, there would have had two turrets, one superimposed on the other...
On the other hand, the turrets of the Prinz Eugen had some openings to the sides of the guns, which does not have the turret of my image....

Could be Nürnberg she had only one turret at the Bow and was fitted with 2 single unit Bofors

Hi LineDoggie

The turrets of the Nürnberg had some openings to the sides of the guns, and the turret of my image seems bigger....

I think Admiral Scheer or Scharnhorst/ Gneisenau.....

I'd say it is Admiral Scheer, possibly around 1942. This is based on the single barrel gun on top of the main 3-gun turret, the single barrel seen on the secondary armament on the port side and the twin barrels on the tertiary armament above and behind those turrets.

That's Deutschland during her forth Spanish operation in May/June 1937 after being attacked by Spanish Republican aircraft. The turret with the crest bore the name Hindenburg. Hard to tell from that image but that photo could be when she entered the harbour at Gibraltar to bury her dead.

Here is an example of the full Hindenburg family crest (Source: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Von_Benec ... Hindenburg )
