Were there any troops of the Kriegsmarine that performed well against Soviet tanks and Soviet troops that you can think of. I seemed to recall that German sailors fought long and hard against the Soviet mighty army in Berlin with small arms,anti tank mines,Panzerfausts,etc. There were German sailors that have tank destructions badges on their sleaves. Any good examples at all of the fighting skill of these sailors that you care to put on this topic. Thank you.

Gentlemen,

On March 7,1945 an enemy unit with 34 tanks was trying to reach the large bridge through Dievenow bridgehead. German naval troops that were defending the bridgehead had knocked out 33 of the 34 enemy tanks which had broken though by the use of panzerfaust. The German naval troops were led by a German army anti-tank officer. The sole enemy tank,which had reached the bridge across tributary,was blown up together with the bridge. Later on, the same German naval troops had knocked out all 36 out of 36 enemy tanks which had came after. The information had come from the middle of page 146 of the book called "The Oder Front 1945,Vol. 2" by A. Stephan Hamilton. Generaloberst Erhard Raus was explaining about the valor of German naval troops to the Fuhrer Adolf Hitler.

Gentlemen,

There were Kriegsmarine sailors in the Reichstag building that fought very hard against Soviet troops near the end of WWII for Germany in 1945. The Waffen-SS soldiers were with the Kriegsmarine sailors to the end.

Korvettenkapitan Peter Erich Cremer had lead a tank destroyer battalion that was of U-Boat naval personnel. They destroyed approximately 40 British tanks and armored vehicles between April 18-20,1945 by using Panzerfaust. That action took place south of Hamburg.
