Does anybody have any idea on how the Italian Merchant ships were armed during the war, what ship were given gun's, who maned those guns, and what types of guns?
And... By extension any German merchant ships operating in the med during the war?
Or, where to look to find out about that?

The enemy had superiority in numbers, his tanks were more heavily armoured, they had larger calibre guns with nearly twice the effective range of ours, and their telescopes were superior. 5 RTR 19/11/41
