Your uncle was in the Kriegsmarine, the US army, and the British army? How could that happen?

Hitler visit to Kiel on April 1934.
AH with Admiral Raeder and Kapitän z. See Lütjens??.....................
In fact was Kapitän zur See Hermann von Fischel (* 13. Jan 1887 in Kiel; † 13. May 1950 in Moscow) at that time Commanding Officer of Panzerschiff "Deutschland".

hi,

I think that this is a identification mistake

Visible in the background (below the boat) is a 6" TWIN (!) turret. There weren`t any of them on the pocket battleships

This, the picture was taken on SCHARNHORST or GNEISENAU
