Japan's German sailors

#1

Post by Jerry Asher » 19 May 2008, 04:23

A number of German sailors and ships not connected with merchant cruisers Thor/Michael or submarines ended up operating with or under Japanese control. Does any one have data to share? Again I am aware that this is on the fringe of this board but can think of no other ploace to even raise the question. Many thanks in advance.

Well I know that there were German naval tankers and cargo ships that were Japanese ports during WWII. I'm not sure what the German sailors did while on shore duty in Japan.

I think there were a few German sailors that actually served on Japanese warships during WWII especially on submarines. Sounds crazy I know.
