scuttled Italian torpedo boats

Post by Dido » 08 Jan 2011 21:16

A number of Italian torpedo boats were scuttled in September 1943. For some of them I have not been able to verify if they were raised by the Germans to be either repaired or scrapped.
Namely:

GIUSEPPE LA MASA at Naples
GIUSEPPE SIROTIR at Corfu
GENERALE ANTONINO CASCINO at Corfu
PROCIONE at La Spezia.
T6 at Cesenatica (ex-AustroHungarian 93-F).

Can anyone help verify their post-9/43 fate?

La Masa was refitting at Naples. The Germans sabotaged her when they withdrew from the city and she was never repaired.
Cascino was refitting at La Spezia (not Corfu). She was scuttled on 9 September and never raised
Procione was immobilized at La Spezia with machinery defects. She was scuttled on 9 September and never raised.
Sirotir was badly damaged by German bombs off Corfu on 14 September and scuttled on 25 September. Never repaired.
T6 was scuttled on 9 September at Cesenatico and never raised.
