Was this torpedo attack filmed on a Z or T boat?

Then, how do they stack them in a vierling arrangement?

As you can see from the attached screenshot, the launcher at 4:37 is clearly a vierling tube... The next launch could be a drilling, although it's virtually impossible to tell from the movie unless the type of ship might be determined from that shot (I can't tell).
Panzerspitze wrote:It's curious the triple torpedo tubes are arranged such that the middle one is slightly recessed, relative to the outer ones.
The same goes for the vierling tubes (both centre-tubes recesses). This arrangement is necessary otherwise you wouldn't be able to open the hatches.

In 1944 533mm drilling tubes were mounted in the german torpedobatteries Korshavn, Porsoy, Raune and Hjelte (a photo from Hjelte is attached). Although not 100% confirmed, these tubes are supposed to be the torpedobatteries salvaged from the wreck of kreuzer Konigsberg.

When RNoN modified the G7a torpedo with wire-guidance in the 70's, the ex-german batteries Raune and Hjelte were modified (improved fortification with a closed front + new firecontrolsystems and sensors) + a new battery built at Korshamn (the old german batteries at Korshamn and Porsoy decomissioned).
In the new batteries the tripple-tubes were split up and mounted 2x2 in fixed position (se attached photos from Herdla torpedobattery - former Torpedobatterie Hjelte - showing the configuration after 1945 and after 1975). Two drilling tubes were received from Denmark to make up matching pairs with the existing four tubes, as one of the tubes in the drilling-configuration couldn't be utilized due to the issue of hatches opening against eachother.

Well, I finally found someone else who calls the German Zerstörer "Z boats" (page 97 of "The Road to Russia: Arctic Convoys 1942" by Bernard Edwards), which sorta justifies my parallelism in calling the Torpedoboote "T boat" :P
