Hi, does anyone know where I can find out if there was a naval barrier across Kiel Hafen prior to and during WW2? I am also looking for maps of WW2 minefields in the Baltic and the North Sea.

Hi Alan,

in a German history forum a member wrote:

So the barrier was from the area of the lighthouse Friedrichsort to the other side.

Sorry, no source, no date. :(

Best wishes
Rolf

Thanks very much, Rolf. I didn't realise this had posted because my laptop crashed when I posted it the first time. I reposted the question today, then I spotted your answer. The position you quoted sounds about right as the Forde is at it's narrowest there, and there is a Marine Barrier office on the 1944 map of Kiel Hafen I have at Friedrichsort, but the Barrier isn't marked on it.
