Yves Buchheim, born in 1949, is the only son of Lothar-Günther Buchheim. He spent the first years of his life in Paris with his mother; in 1954 he moved to Feldafing to live with his father and was under the thumb of the despotic and egomaniacal artist for decades.
A short interview with Yves Buchheim from the year 2018, published in the german newspaper "Welt":

Da war kein Familienleben, keine Liebe (There was no family life, no love)

Personally, I think it was very brave, and also upright, to dismantle your own father's mendacious story.

I haven't read Yves Buchheim's book yet, maybe it's better that way.

Personally, I wish I could write such a book about my own family.
But this luck, or misfortune, all this was never granted to me.

Enough rambling...
