34.Minensuchflottille

Post by captain Robson » 09 Dec 2021 02:06

Hi I am new to the forum and I am trying to help a Polish friend of mine research a former Polish soldier named Józef [Joseph] Redlin born in Tupadły, Municipality of Władysławowo Poland on 28.04.1915.
Józef Redlin was part of the Polish Navy and was forcibly transferred to the Kriegsmarine [Stammrollennummer Kriegsmarine: N. 554/37 KS] in 1943 and transferred to the Netherlands in August 1943. He was part of 34.Minensuchflottille with Maassluis as its home base. He escaped from Festung IJmuiden in December 1943 and reported to the Dutch Underground in Beverwijk, his Dutch identity card from July 1945, stated the address Heidestraat 47 [school 3] Velsen. Joseph leaves for Poland on November 21, 1945.
Joseph died on September 3, 1983 at the age of 68 in Gdynia Redłowo, Poland.

I am curious if there is anything to be found about IJmuiden in the Kriegstagebucher of 34. Minensuchflottille. And in the archives of the N.B.S. [Dutch Interior Forces] region 12 Beverwijk. This would be of great help to Redlins family.
