go to

http://www.prinzeugen.com

check on the literature section and go buy some books........

this is most probably the simplest method for you to find out for yourself just how successful the Schnellbooten was !

Y'know, I was aware that there were a lot of things available on e-bay. I lost an auction the other day, (very disappointing!), won one, and hit a buy-it-now.
I never would have imagined the chance for bidding on an S-Boot, though!!! 8O

Now, I believe I've seen everything!!!

yes Tom, only if I had 59 k (UK) to spare....

on the other hand, considering the prices paid (or asked) fro german WWII vintage armor....the price for the boat, considering it has provenance its quite low.

wonder how much the seller paid the german government for it....pennies/pound...

she has a pretty serious list though...when I spend that kind of money I usually try to buy WWII S-boats that don't lean so much!

If you can get your hands on Schiffer's book on schnellboats, it has some good overall (not very deep) narrative of major actions.

on the other hand, the Squadron/signal book on the same subject tends more to the technical side, I may say, one book compliments the other.

both can be acquired from http://www.squadron.com for under 20.00 usd a piece in softcover, also, both follow the photo history format.

Xavier the second volume of the squadron signal Schnellboot is in the works and will cover ops in some point along with the Flottilla's and some of the important personalities of the S-boot arm.

Gerhard Hümelchen's OOP title is probably the most important work produced, although written in German. And if can be found some of the older German titles are a must...........
