The production was stopped because the horizontal armour was to thin against bombing from air. To make a stronger one it had been necessary to make a reinforced hull construction. Thats additional weight of summary 5000t had reduced the construction speed. A more powerfull machinery was not aviable. Also the coasts of this changing the construction was very expensive. And so the Battleship H was stopped and scrapped.

There were more than one planned to be build, though. Sad that none of them were completed. However, since we know Bismarck and Tirpitz we can imagine what these ones would have been capable to do.
