Prinz Eugen is the ship who fired most rounds WW2 ???

May be Prince Eugen is the ship in the class of the heavy ships who fired most artillerie-gun rounds in WW2.
The inside gun tubes were two times or more changed in her career. In the Baltic Sea near the end of WW2 the Prince Eugen fired thousands of rounds on land targets and much operations before.

Is inWW2 a ship from cruiser-class to battleship-class who fired more rounds?

it appears the Prinz is # 1 of the Kreuzers with some 4,871 rounds of here main armament and 2,500 rounds from the 10.5cm's for off shore bombarding in March of 1945.,

the Admiral Scheer although a heavier ship was also used in the bombarding of Soveit postions in 1945...........

Within the Axis realm I doubt it, though I would imagine several Allied ships would surpass it.

thank you for that note Jan. does it cover much on the last months of action in the Baltic ?

the price of 12/90 Euros seems quite fair.

excellent ! a good friend here served in MarineFlak at Kiel and then in a KM land-division in the Baltic and watched the shore bombardments take place by the heavy ships, Prinz E., Sheer and Lützow.

Oh , I read many stories from Heer-veterans how thankful they were for the aid by the "Dickschiffe" in their hopeless situation .

During the Operation Cerberus she expends over 5,000 rounds of AA ammunition, and fires some heavy shells at British destroyers.

Under the fact in how much dangerous operations the Prince Eugen was involved and when you compair it with the risk what this more small ship compaired to battleships had, may be successfullest ship in WW2.

May be some US-battleships who operated in the pacific during the island-hoppings, but i dont think so. You have facts about that? Changing the inner tubes of main guns?
