Here are two photos of MFPs being moved on special truck beds...headed for the Black Sea and Mediterranean Sea via transfer by roadway from one river or canal to another. These are taken from Randolf Kugler's excellent and comprehensive book Das Landungswesen in Deutschland seit 1900. It's worth buying (even if you can't read German) because it's profusely illustrated with pictures of all different types of German landing craft: from Siebel ferries to MFPs to Pil-boats and I-boats. It also covers all German amphibious actions conducted during WWI and WWII and includes eight short biographical sketches of some of the men involved in formulating, promoting and executing German amphibious doctrine. Copies are available at: http://www.abebooks.com/

Has anyone got an out-of-the-water Siebel ferry photo clearly showing the rudder/s and propellers?

A few pictures from ebay.de of a Siebelfähre "schwere Kampffähre 40":

"The heavy type (Kampffähre) usually carries three 88-mm dual-purpose guns, and two 37-mm or two 20-mm antiaircraft machine guns, and one 4-meter-base stereoscopic range-finder with predictor."

The pictures have been taken in Antwerp during the Battle of Britain according to the caption of this picture showing the same boat at the same location:

The layout with the three 8.8 cm Flak guns is clearly visible on these models:

An earlier version with three or four 8,8 cm Flak on their trailer:

This album related with AF - artillery Fahrprame, i.e. MFP with big (8.8 and 10.5-cm guns). I think, in Holland.

Both MFP 164 and 169 served in 21th landungflotilla in Norwegen in 1942, in 1943 both were converted in AF. So photos must be from 21 L-flotilla, 1942.
