The French navy had the former Austrian battleship S.M.S. PRINZ EUGEN as a target ship after World War One.

hi,

and now I`m burdened  with the nice task to decide who of you gets the price ... :milwink:

IMO, finding the HMS PRINCE EUGENE was the hardest part.

Thus, the next question goes to ... France !

greetings, the pb

P.S. sorry, Peter, I`m going to make it up at the next possibility

hi, Olivier,

a process of elimination (which destroyer is it not ...) leads me to the assumption that this is Z 24 sinking off Le Verdon in August 1944.

Thanks... and sorry for the delay.
Next question may be quite easy for Kriegsmarine experts, still I haven't found a better one.
What ships are shown in this photo?

Best regards, Aleks

hi, Aleks,

Did I give you the idea ?

T 24 (foreground) and Z 24 being attacked (and damaged/sunk) by the RAF off Le Verdon (Bay of Biscay), August 24, 1944.

hi,

Ten (10) E-boats were - at least partially - lost due to a very special kind of "friendly fire".
