Aha, a possible danish connection - Admiral Willy von Nordeck?
Unfortunately a site only in danish by the great grandson of Nordeck! Has some nice pictures of his early years and more if it is him...

Thanks! This should be an easy one. He's one of two - but who?

hi,
greetings, the pb
No, this is Klaus Dönitz, the elder of two brothers, who died when E-boat S 141 was sunk by the Free-French destroyer La Combattante in May, 1944Kriegsmarine Großadmiral wrote:Peter Dönitz, son of Karl Dönitz?

Polar bear - you are so right! My mistake, big mistake for passing it on too quickly. I even saved the picture as "ksd" (Klaus son Dönitz) and answered "the other being Peter"
So sorry! Don't know where my thoughts were at that moment...

Re: The official AHF Kriegsmarine quiz thread
hi,
there aren't that many to choose from, I think that picture shows neither Arnauld nor Marschall or Schultze.
Thar leaves von Heimburg ... although I'm not sure about it.
Waleed, don't you worry, If I think of the errors I myself comitted during the last months, I turn quite red ...

Since you did mention him, it is Lothar von Arnauld de la Perière!Polar bear wrote:hi,

Re: The official AHF Kriegsmarine quiz thread
hi,
OK, I found a picture of Arnauld as Vice admiral, I missed that, before.
Quiz question (from my favourite realm) :
A German E-boat sunk or torpedoed, from April, 1942, to June, 1943, more than 50,000 tons of Allied shipping. Its number ?
