several landing crafts were captured in Dippe, France in 1942. from pics i find at least 1 infantry landing boat and 1 medium tank landing ship fell in german hands during that battle. so what happened to those ships next? did they entered german service? and did german ever captured other landing crafts esp. massive ones?
this is wesker101 from china, thanks in advance.
did german use landing crafts captured from US and UK?

A few British and US types were used after capture. I have a picture somwhere of an LCA in the Channel Islands in German livery, with a VP number on the bow. A US LCVP was stolen by German POWs in Granville in 1945 and also ended up in Jersey. I believe S-boats captured a US LCT in the Channel in 1943.
A British LCT and a US built LCM were captured in the Aegean and re-used by the Germans. A few pictures of the LCT can be seen in "Kampf um die Aegis" by Peter Schenk.
I will dig up my information from Groeners, who lists all the captured landing craft.

I always wonder what happened to these landing ships that were captured by the Germans.
