Japanese Diplomats after Pearl Harbor

An interesting historical note...

Following Pearl Harbor, Japanese diplomats in the US were taken by special blacked-out train under guard to Dragoon Arizona where they were held at the Triangle T dude ranch. It was considered the most remote location the government could find with reasonable accommodations that was near a rail line and a US Army fort (Fort Huachuca about 40 miles away). The US held them there until they could be exchanged and in some cases, for the rest of the war.

The Triangle T still exists as a guest ranch today too.

The exchange took place in August, 1942, IIRC.

I find it kind of neat that you can experience a very odd and unique piece of WW 2 history like this today.
