In the second picture the MG looks to be just sitting on the window ledge without any tripod or other attachment. I'm just an old retired Navy guy, never fired a MG in my life, but I would assume that if it were actually fired like this the recoil would blast it back out of the window and do nasty things to whoever was firing it. It makes me think this picture was posed.

Agreed that this is posed, all the more because his Vickers-type MG has no ammunition belt fed in, besides. The lack of steel helmets might be still more hint although the rest is enough.
