I have in my possession a section of Japanese aluminum aircraft skin with some kanji painted on it (via stencil). The kanji from the skin fragment (approx. 5 inches X 2 inches) is this:

Granted, it looks to be only a portion of possibly a whole lot more Japanese stenciled on, but this is all that is available. I see it as roughly: "tube insertion point (hole)" Is this correct, or is there a different way to read this? Any help greatly appreciated, thanks!

it is literally pitot tube work hole [pitō-kan sagyō kō]. The Japanese noun for insertion is different: 挿入 [sōnyū].

FYI...while most Japanese surnames and given names usually consist of two kanji characters each. There are exceptions.

I have seen dog tags from time to time with the right most column having the kanji: 国守 and preceded by a number. In the most recent case, the kanji present on the tag is: 七国守

I read it as "7 national defense" but what would the context be when identifying the unit for a tag with this kanji? Is this a Japanese mainland related fortress tag, or something else entirely? Any help greatly appreciated, thanks!
