The Tasuki that Taki spoke about on page 15, I remember reading somewhere that they were also worn to help in recognition in the dark. Since Japanese landings usually were conducted around 0100-0400 hrs, would this information be true?

I dont know about the Tasuki, but landings were frequently started at night to take advantage of tide/water level. The Allied landing at Anzo kicked off around 0200 for that reason.
