I make the lower one to be KAZE 9314 My list shows that it is KAZE and is the 13 Field Air Repair Depot
the top one I make as 7314 that should be HIROSHI for the 58th Division BUT IS NOT
If we look closely, the Unit Code for both TAGs is 風1394. It means 編成管理官 Organization Supervising Officer of 第13航空修理廠 13th Field Air Repair Depot was 陸軍航空本部長 Director of Army Administration HQ. Unfortunately the Army Regulation “A” which ordered the activation of 13th Field Air Repair Depot is not left. Instead I found the copy of the the Army Regulation “A” which ordered the activation of 14th Field Air Repair Depot. The Organization Supervising Officer of it is Director of Army Administration HQ.
13th Field Air Repair Depot and 22nd Field Air Supply Depot were transferred to Manira Army Air Depot on 15 August 1943.
Note the Organization Supervising Officer of Hongkong Army Air Depot which was activated on the same day was Director of Army Administration HQ. So its Unit Code was 風9322.

Isn't it was 風 Kaze, not 嵐 Arashi?
風 was the 兵団文字符 Unit Code Letter of 陸軍航空本部 Army Air Administration HQ.
But, such a central unit as 陸軍航空本部 used ID tag? It located in Japan and never fought in the front.

Taki
The ID tags were not for 陸軍航空本部's. They were for 13th Army Repair Depot.

The bellow is the list of other units having Unit Code Letter 風.

風18988 中央航空路部 Central Air Root Department
風19566 第1陸軍気象隊 1st Meteorological Unit

風19568 第3陸軍気象隊 3rd Meteorological Unit

風29653 陸軍航空審査部 Army Air Examination Department
風29654 陸軍中央気象部 Army Central Meteorological Department

Thank you for your responses! I’m not sure if this helps to provide any clarity, but he was stationed in the Philippines

Hello stulev,

Oh I have mistaken. I meant the Unit Code of both tags is 風9314. It means the unit was 13th Air Repair Depot.
