Hiroshi Oshima´s family

#1

Post by pavel michalek » 08 Dec 2008, 16:29

Hello there!
I´d like to know little bit more about Oshima´s family. We can see on this photo his wife. Perhaps we can start with her name. Anyone knows?

That's very interesting Pavel ..I happen to own that exact photo as it came with an archive of Nurnberg Trials Documents that I own. I wonder how they ended up with a copy of it since I got it directly from the Trials Interrogator who brought it home after the Trials.
Here it is -

Here's the back of that photo with the description ...guess they didn't copy that huh?
Unfortunately ...they only list her as "Mrs Oshima"

Guess it just goes to show how small our "community" really is ...funny how you found that
Anyway ...I have more on him but , it might take a while to dig it out as I have not matched up all the photos with the interrogations.
There's a lot of material and I have not had the time.

Perhaps you (by memory), or someone else, can tell me more about his activities in Berlin. I only know he was hardcore Nazi and founder of German-Japanese diplomatic relations, which are known as Axis Berlin-Tokyo. Since I was mentioned Oshima´s belief, I´d like to know little bit about his character (what kind of person he was), if he was good or bad diplomat, some opinions from his colleagues, superiors, German Nazis etc. He spoke almost perfect German, did Oshima spoke English too? I would appreciate any help.

P.S.: Mike, thanks for showing the back of the photo. Now I´ve got complete identification of all important persons on that photo. :)
