Shimushu tanks?
Shimushu tanks?
I don't know if this is Shimushu or Karafuto.
Shimushu had the 11th Tank Regiment there in 1945:

But there was no tanks on Karafuto?

What are these tanks?

Thanks Taki.
Gordon Rottman states a SNLF tank unit was sent to Shimushu(1943/44?).This would have been before the 11th Tank Regiment was deployed there in 1945.

Re: Shimushu tanks?
Obviously without floats.
http://www3.plala.or.jp/takihome/ka-mi.htm
For a 9 ton tank they look big.
And with 6 crew.

"Ka-Mi" on an island Shimushu.
Whether there is some more photo of the Japanese armies on Kuril islands?

Re: Shimushu tanks?
Prompt please, how many tanks were at them available and whether there is an information on participation of these units in fights?

Re: Shimushu tanks?
There were 16 Ka-Mi tanks. They were deployed at the southwest of the island, the opposite side of the Soviet landing place. So, they were not involved in the fight.FreyFox wrote:Prompt please, how many tanks were at them available and whether there is an information on participation of these units in fights?
