In the photo Paramushir, the coast of the Second Kuril Strait. To the right in the distance is the Shumshu Island. Winter-spring 1945
Can you tell the type of boats in the photo? Civil or military?

Best regards

The first boat is Shohatsu. The second boat is probably Daihatsu.

Shohatsu and Daihatsu are Japanese standard landing crafts. They were used everywhere including in Kuriles.

More precisely, this is the Murakami Bay on Paramushir.
Probably, the boat sat on stones near the shore and is pulled back into the sea with the help of soldiers and daihatsu

Please tell me where you can read in detail about the Japanese army semi-underground triangular barracks, about the situation and the heating system?
