I-97 fighter and Type 97 bomber

Looking at CBI combat reports for 1942, there are repeated references to Japanese "I-97" and "I-97 Type II" fighter, the "I-45 fighter", "Type 97 bomber" and "Type 97 recon bomber".

Anybody able to decipher those AAF designations? I'd assume the I-45 = Ki-45 and maybe I-97 = Ki.27 but cannot tell without context.

Thanks to all.
