Japanese TOEs
I am looking for information on the TOEs of Japanese Infantry units Platoon/ Company/Battalion Regiment of the WW II period. This is for a friend. I understand they did vary a lot. I am most interested in weaponry LMGs HMGs mortars ect. Thanks in advance.

James;
Some of the best information in English for low level TOE's is in Rikugun: Guide to Japanese Ground Forces 1937-1945 Vol I by Leland
Ness available on Amazon for $37.05 or digitally for $4.99. The volume contains hundreds of regiment or lower TOE's of the different
divisions. It shows many of the minor incremental changes made in the minor formations that allowed many small variations between
the units. Here is the link:
https://www.amazon.com/Rikugun-Japanese ... oks&sr=1-2
Vol II covers the weapons themselves but also has some useful TOE info:
https://www.amazon.com/Rikugun-Weapons- ... oks&sr=1-1
Depending on how much research your friend would like to do there are many resources on line of US intelligence documents from the war
that give small unit details. These include CINCPAC/CINCPOA US Navy documents. and USAFPAC and SWPA US Army documents. These can
be found in various locations, below are two links:
http://cgsc.contentdm.oclc.org/cdm/land ... p4013coll8
https://www.history.navy.mil/content/hi ... orces.html
Also, one of our Japanese forum members, Fontessa, is a very good source for the breakdown of minor japanese units. His website is on the Japanese Army Air Force with IJA ground forces covered at the bottom. The website is at:
http://www.fontessa.info/index.html
For some reason, I could not connect to it, but this could just mean it's being updated. Fontessa always monitors the forum and is very good
about answering all our many and varied questions on the IJA & IJN.

Re: Japanese TOEs
First of all, note, that there was no IJA TOE below company level. Actual organization below was determined by unit commander on the basis of some guidelines.James A Pratt III wrote: ↑17 Aug 2019, 23:27I am looking for information on the TOEs of Japanese Infantry units Platoon/ Company/Battalion Regiment of the WW II period. Below two of my attempts to reconstruct IJA infantry units organization:
