Attack on the Fuji, March 12th 1926
naval vessels were sent when Chinese troops redeployed in a demilitarized zone --near mouth of Pei Ho river. Any details? My citation is that four men were wounded on the Fuji. Many thanks in advance.

Hello jerryasher,
Are you sure that the ship was FUJI? FUJI was changed to an operational training ship in December 1922. On 10 May 1925, a graduation ceremony was held at FUJI.

What I have is that Fuji was paired with Suzuki----I assume that with two other ships she would have made up a destroyer division. Those others may have joined or been nearby in the Yellow Sea. The cruisers Hirado and Tone were operational and nearby at that time. There may have been other Japanese units involved. At least six other foreign warships were around, 1 Italian, 2 American, 1 French and 2 British. Seemingly, the Guominjun reached an agreement for the Fuji and Suzuki to reach Tianjin and even provided a pilot craft to guide them. However shots were fired soon after. Thank you Fontessa.

Hello jerryasher,
On 10 May 1926, a graduation ceremony was held at FUJI.
Unfortunately, I don't know if the operational training ship will sail in the open ocean. IJN didn't have the ship SUZUKI.

I have missed. The below is correct.

Thank you Fontessa. Suspect Suzuki is Susuki --a destroyer of the same class, launched on 21 February 1921. Many thanks for bearing with me.

There was also a destroyer named Fuji, different kanji, completed in 1921. Are you sure it was the battleship?

Re: Attack on the Fuji, March 12th 1926
Hi Jeff--and welcome to the Board. My enquiry relates to the destroyer Fuji and as I stand more informed the destroyer Susuki. The initial source of my question relates to the naval demonstration in the Yellow Sea relative to the Guominjun ( a Chinese faction) that altered the Boxer Protocol's and set up artillery in a demilitarized zone. I would be interested in all aspects of the events. The Guominjun action may, (more than likely) was sparked to assist the passage of the Russsian Oleg which was carrying arms from Vladivostok and being hunted by Chinese naval forces of Wu Pei Fu. Fuji and Susuki and perhaps others may have been operating out of Dalian or Lushan(Port Arthur) in Manchuria. The British out of Weihaiwei and the others out of Yanti, (Chefoo). It was great to hear from you (I forgot there had been a battleship named Fuji).
Re: Attack on the Fuji, March 12th 1926
It was 藤 FUJI. It makes sense that destroyers 藤 FUJI and 薄 SUSUKI. 運用術練習艦 Operational Training Ship 富士 FUJI (ex battleship) has nothing to do with it.
