Hi! I do not have good understanding/knowledge about the military organization in general and my question here specifically aim at the IJA.
While I did read that the garrison duty/military administration in Malaya and Singapore was replaced by the 29th Army in 1944 but is it possible if there are some divisions under the 25th Army still stationed in Malaya and Singapore after it was replaced by the 29th in 1944?
Why am I asking this?
It is for a historical fiction I'm working on, one of the character is part of the 5th Division (which is under the 25th); they were involved in the Malayan campaign and the fall of Singapore. I wanted to make him stay in Malaya until the end of the war, so historically is that possible/accurate?
Anyway, thank you for your attention!

Hello N.N Dee,
The 5th Division was transferred from 25th Army to 19th Army on 7 January 1943, and moved to Seram Island. And 5th Division was transferred from 19th Army to 2nd Army on 13 June 1945. On 25 January 1945, 1st to 3rd Mixed Battalions were temporarily formed by the 5th Division and moved to Singapore from June to July of the same year and transferred to the Singapore Defense Force as 1st and 3rd Temporary Mixed Battalions.
