Picture of unknown meeting between IJA and IJN officers.

Post by marek O. » 15 Mar 2020 22:24

Hello,

I hope You are all OK and healthy. I am, so far.
I have a question concerning some meeting in unknown time and unknown place. This picture had no caption, unfortunatelly, in any language. I just suspect it was made in 1931, 1932? Shanghai? Can You tell me anything about it. When, where was it made? Who seats in the first row?

Regards,
Marek

The flagstaff in the background says it took place aboard an IJN vessel, but no idea which one.

All I can say, that uniform points out at early 1930s.

The seated army officer could well be General Itagaki.

Hello,
I agree that IJA officer, sitting in the first raw, might be gen. Itagaki Seishiro, intelligence officer in HQ Kwantung Army. I risk statement, that next to him seats rearadm. Shiozawa Koichi, co 1st Expeditionary Fleet. In both cases we are talking about beginning of 1932. I'm waiting for Your opinion.

Marek
