Japanese infantry battalion in Pacific war 1941

Post by Kelvin » 18 Mar 2020 03:35

I would like to ask organization of Japanese infantry battalion in Dec 1941 :

55th and 56th Infantry division 's infantry battalion : each battalion had 3 x Rifle companies, 1 x MG Company, 1 x IG coy

18th, 33rd, 48th Infantry division 's infantry battalion kept it old System : 4 x rilfe companies, 1 x MG Company, 1 x IG coy.

As 2nd , 4th and 16th division had been reorganized for amphibious Operation and 5th and Imperial Guards Divisions had been transformed into Motor divisions. I would like to know these Five divisions still had one battalion with 4 x rifle companies or new System : battalion with 3 x rifle companies, thank
