Shanghai 1932. 2 things.

Hello,

I have two questions about Shanghai 1932 conflict from both sides.
1st. In one of the posts on this forum, there is a mention about liaison officer mr. Toda, who informed brig. Fleming, 28th of January, that Japanese are planning military actions next day if Chinese won't fulfiill Japanese demands. I have a question - do we talk about civilian, mr. Toda [probably someone from Japanese Consulate in Shanghai] or soldier, mjr. Toda [such version I also saw]? Do we know his first name?
2nd. About allied presence in Shanghai in January-February 1932. Here is what I have about that:
Shanghai Volunteer Corps - col. N. W. B. B. Thoms [British officer but I believe he was from New Zealand].
US - 1st [mjr. George H. Osterhout Jr.], 3rd Battalion [mjr. William C. Powers] from 4th Marines Regiment [col. Richard B. Hooker].
British - 2nd Battalion Welch Infantry Regiment
Royal Scots Fusiliers Regiment [unknown subunits]
East Lancashire Regiment [unknown subunits]. Nothing about commanders.
French - Battalion from 3rd R.T.T. [Regiment of Tonkin Tiraliers]. Same as above.
Italian - Company? from Bataglione Italiano in Cina [cpt. Frederico C. Martinengo]. I don't know if he was commanding the whole Battalion or just the unit in Shanghai. If You have something to add or correct, please do. I would be very gratefull.
Regards,
Marek
