Just a short note that jacar has wonderful exhibit on the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895. I found it by basic google December 1884 rebellion Korea--it showed up as #1. jacar.go.jp/english/jacarbl-fsje-e/topic/index/indexihibition. (Hope I didn't miss anything) my eyes. One citation is do jacar B03030193500 relates to December 1884 event---I would love to know what ships were sent from Japan. Hope you find it enjoyable.
