Saigon Headquarters of General Count Hisaichi Terauchi

Post by Fatboy Coxy » 16 Nov 2021 12:46

Hi all

When General Count Hisaichi Terauchi was made commander of the Southern Expeditionary Army Group on the 6th November 1941, he made his headquarters in Saigon. Does anyone know what buildings did he occupy for the Army HQ and his residence?

After the capture of Singapore, he moved to there, in early 1942.

He was made a Field Marshal in 1943, and in May 1944 moved his HQ to Manila, the Philippines. However, with the approach of the US invasion forces, he moved again, back to Saigon

Did he take the same buildings for his HQ and residence, when back in Saigon?
