Hey,
I have been searching on the net on the Japanese Air Force of world war one, but I have yet to come up with any results. So I'm coming to the conclusion that they had none....can anyone contradict me? What sort of aircraft did they use? Thanks
Zach

August 1914 Strength (1)
29. WAKAMIYA - 5,900t, 10 knots, 4 Farman seaplanes, 230 crew, converted 1914 from naval transport
Wakamiya and her aircraft took part in the siege of Tsingtao. According to Conway, the Farmans reportedly sank one German minelayer and damaged shore installations. If so this would be the first successful carrier air raid in history, but needs confirmation

Re: japanese air force??
The Sopwith 1½ Strutter was used by the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force, while the Imperial Japanese Navy used the Sopwith Pup (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_m ... t_of_Japan). The Japanese built their own military aircraft in World War I, the Yokosuka Ro-go Ko-gata (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yokosuka_Ro-go_Ko-gata).
