GENDA was an aviator of broad experience, intelligent and alert. He was of the younger school of officers, inclined to criticize freely, and perhaps associated with the earlier radical groups. He appeared to have considerable Filipino blood.

I think this is not true. He was born in a peasant's family around Osaka. I didn't find any Filipino blood relationship in data on him.

Genda certainly was an altogether skilled and in many ways, admirable warrior. After the War, he became a member of the Japanese Diet. While on a tour of the US Naval Academy in the 1960s, he was asked about whether Japan would have used atomic weapons if she had developed them before the US did. "Why wouldn't we have?", was his reply.

For example, can you distinguish a German, a French and an Itarian based only on several pictures?
Many genuine Japaneses look like non-Japaneses in some pictures.

His facial features suggests to me some Austronesian descent.

Until the 12 century or abouts people related maylasian/polynesian people inhabited southern Japan, but where absorbed by the dominant ( Yamamoto) ethnic group. So Genda distant ancesters could of been smiliar to the Philippinos, just as a Czech or a Pole could have Celtic blood.

Yes, seemingly homogeneous Japanese people are actually mixed people from Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia.
