Hi All! Does anyone have any recommended source in German or English regarding similar statistics to those mentioned here, but for World War I? I'm writing a piece on the naval war in the Baltic, 1914-1918. The primary British ambition there, where they deployed a submarine flotilla, was to cut off Germany's vital supply of iron ore from Sweden. They nearly succeeded in 1915. From what I've seen so far, Germany imported more raw iron ore from Sweden than it produced itself. But I have not yet been able to find exact import/export figures between the two states, either in the archives or in the secondary literature. Any recommendations?
