I think Victor would be better to answer on Ploesti oil production but about 5-6 million tons per year is about right. Which made things very tight for Germans - making comparison to todays production - Libya alone is producing over 60 million tons per year (and it is only mid-size oil-producer)... about 6 times the European Axis whole oil supply per year during WW2.

Oh yeah! I work as an electrician! My special field is explotion proof equipment for hazardous areas, called "Ex"

And about Stavanger...... There is life! There is 120000 living in the town, and I would guess "only" 10-15000 are employed by oil-companies or their sub contractors..... Since the last huge offshore contract went to a Spanish shipyard, it is expected that over 2000 will loose their jobs 8O

So it is not a safe place to work, but it pays good!
What other would you expect from a Finn ??
Rally driver!
Or maybe making tyres

Hi,

You propably ment 3063988 barrels a month. I used a rough average of 5-6 million tons per year. Your figure is about 4.96 million tons per year - not much difference to my lower estimate...

Production varied between war years and actually production had peaked some years before WW2 (1936) and had decreased considerably after that.

In this thread there is more discussion about Ploesti oil production: http://www.thirdreichforum.com/phpBB2/v ... ht=ploesti
