Post by dirk Peeters » 30 Aug 2012, 13:54

hello all
I m looking for documents of this bttr (StP Ro 425 and Ro 429)
ayone has data when the tower is constructed
Does the bunkers for the big guns exist of two separate bunkers ? etc
Not looking for pictures
I ve visited all by myself
But a few questions remain
Later i ll gonna design the bunkers and show thge plans
I can already say
Not one plan of the tower is good
All known to me are full of errors
also looking for interior pictures of the many 501 there ... They are starnge in many ways

Hi Dirk

A lot of questions in one post

(1) date of constuction of the turret = there is in the S 497 a date 19-03-44 , don't know if it's original
(2) bunker for turret is two bunkers = yes , the S 473 and the S 483 , on Ile de Groix only the turret was
build with the ammorooms . A other prove is the bunkernumber Ro 429 / 01 u 02 and 03 u 04

Hi again Dirk

The real name of the M.K.B. was Ars and not Karola , that was the name of the Stp.
found some proof the M.K.B. Ars was in building proces in 12-1943 , so the 19-03-1944
inside the S 497 could be real .

Plan = Lenco van der Weel

Hi Dirk,
The 501's are strange indeed.
But nice!
WHat strange things did you found besides the chimneypipe of the stove and the thinner roof for the periscope?

And Lenco,
The name of the Battery is M.K.B. Ars but the complex has another name.
In the PdC it's the same, for instance the Battery Todt is Stp.166 Saitenspiel.
This works in more places in the A.W.
Greetings Jack.

pictures particulary interesting for me since I worked during the last weeks intensively for all details of these two heavy cruiser turrets and their bunkers.

Are there any more informations in the book - and which book exactly?

I totally agree with Dirk that all plans known are full of mistakes and both bunkers are very different in details

far as I there are no other picture's of M.K.B. Ars in both books .
