Re: Type 219
one thing about the 219
they seems very similar but they can varie a lot in measurements
Had to do with the angles of shooting
Also a lot of differences can be found in the soccles for the guns
most must have had wheeled canons but there are 219 that seems to be fixed , would thie mean that there where two guns in the combatroom ?
another question
i have seen an a picture of a 219 on the belgian coast that there is possible a forced ventilation system (style 612 aso) but i never saw in the remaining 219
have anyone pictures of 219 with this ventilation system (outside pictures are welcome if we see the piping)
Thanks
Dirk

Re: Type 219
there is another 219 with extra cellars , we have measured it but i m planning to open these cellars (for the heights), They have climbing irons but the strangest thing , they are connected with a concrete trench that goes straight under the bunker and goes away in the dunes
It seems we have a lot of questions about the 219

Re: Type 219
Personal I think there was only one gun in the bunker, about the Belgian coast there must be more 219 in the part A 3.
For the ventilation there is no documentation that I have , but there must something above the breach of the gun in or on the roof ??
Regards Jos

Re: Type 219
From what bauprogramm or Fest Pi is this 219?
Re: Type 219
about those cellars...
the 219 laying near Malo Terminus, also has the stairs leading down... but they lead nowhere; if you descent the stairs you'll crawl from undertneath the bunker (no rooms attached to the stairs).
It would seem that this specific bunker had an entrance/exit underneath the bunker itself... possibly connecting to an underground trenchsystem??
(I have photo's, but can't find them; if you look down the stairs you'll see the sand underneath the bunker and sunlight shinning through)

dear Friends.
It can be possibel that the wooden planks where over the rim of the concrete. So you do not need to make a small strip in the concrete. This is easier to make. Just a thought. Greetings ben
