From Ebay.ch,

This is the right model for the HES.
And than with sliding adapter at the end of the hose..
These fit in the clamps on the mounting frame.
Search for "alte fettpresse", and they pop up at Ebay now and then

Gr, Tim

Only in Norway 8O

I still wonder how long one complete filter would run before its clogged, or the carbon stopped working while under has attack or battle smoke?

Same thought here!

Although nothing official, I have been told the filters would be saturated after 20 minutes continuous use and need to be replaced.

FYI: This exact fettpresse was also part of the tool-kit for the G7a(TI) torpedo (gerät #50), used for the sole purpose of filling the self-lubricating depthmechanism grease-box.

Cool, thanks for the info, never knew there was a self lubricating part in a torpedo.. strange if you think of the relatively short distance they travel...

There are lots of lubricating points on the torpedo (like the rudder-bearings and the crossdrive for the propelleraxle etc) - each having to be lubricated regulary according to the maintenance-routines.

The main purpose of the grease-cup however, was to ensure an airtight seal for the axle conveying the movement from the hydrostatic piston/pendolum in the depthmecnaism to the depthrudder's servoengine (critical to ensure proper depthsetting).

Also - although a torpedo was designed for "one-time use", it would normally be used for numerous exersice-shots as well.

The attached photo from a cut-open G7a(TI) torpedo, shows the grease-cup in question with the point for attaching the fettpresse being accessible through the closed hatch (the vertical cylinder at the left is the depth-mechanism and the axle above is the connection to the servoengine, whic is located just outside the photo at the right).

Sorry for the rather off topic degression... I just wanted to mention it as an example of the same german tool being used for different purposes (and as such, several sources might be investigated in term of locating them)
