Panther Bodenturm
Re: Panther Bodenturm
Hello,
Recently I'm investigating the electrical network in Pantherturm.
Here are some pictures, that I received from Ole Hviid Tonnesen a long time ago.
Can you identify the devices 1, 2 and 3, tell their names and function?
regards

Re: Panther Bodenturm
Device 1 is a connection point (innen anschlußdose 2 paarig mit schnellverschluß) for connecting a field telephone.
Normally designed for use in "landsbefestigungen", bunkers ans so, were a permanent telephone connection was not nessecery.
This is the 2 paarige variant, there was also a 1 paarige variant (only 1 set of 2 screws)
There was also a version with "dreikantverschluss", that was to be used in olaces were unauthorized opening of the box was a risk..

Re: Panther Bodenturm
The others i don't recognize..
Re: Panther Bodenturm
Here is a sketch of installation, with "Innenanschlussdose 2 paarig mit schnellverschluss" and "device 2". Sketch is based on photos.
It looks like "device 2" is responsible for dividing the line for 2 final receivers.
Could it suggest, that Pantherturm had 2 Feldfernsprechers installed?
Other general question is: could it happen, that in Pantherturm there was used a mix of devices for fortifications, Panzerwaffe , or any other?

And now - Ostwallturm interior.
Picture in the top - is it any electrical device, or spare bag for shells?
Two bottom pictures - it looks like this device is not installed in any tank turret typical for Pantherturm (Panther D / Panther A) , you can see it only in fortress version > Ostwallturm. What it is?

Hello,
Now - ventilation. I'm looking for the devices, that were installed in Stahlunterstands (both Pantherturm and D/Z) as air intake covers and air outlet covers (most probably Uberdruckventils). Does anyone have a drawings / documentation, where I can find the correct device types? Crucial dimension is a screws placement diameter.

Ventilation
Uberdruckventil you can see in the right upper corner NW = wide of the pipe and K = the distance of the bolts ( BAMA )
For the O.T. Stahlstand mit Pantherturm the air intake should be above the door ( Natter )

Re: Panther Bodenturm
On my sketch with holes dimensions - air intake for Pantherturm is top left. Was it covered by any device?
Also, it looks like in Pantherturm Stahlunterstand uberdruckventill is not present? ( Please look at hole dimensions - bottom on the sketch - it's not fitting uberdruckventil, or another model with screws diameter 205 was produced?)
Well, that would also mean that in OT Stahlunt. typ D/Z Uberdruckventill is above the Hes 1,2 ? (on my sketch with holes dimensions - top right - fitting to the middle size uberdruckventil)

Re: Panther Bodenturm
Hi all. I have a general question: how many lower armoured parts od OT-Pantherturm (boxes) are still preserved? I know this:
a) one buried under concrete at Poland,
b) one flooded at the harbour in Italy
c) one (or more?) at the Spanish border (Col de la Perche)
Any else?

Re: Panther Bodenturm
Another one is at col de la Perthus
I've heard about one in Italy, that has "sunken" in the sand - at the beach, near Piza.

Re: Panther Bodenturm
Hello,
Here I've found another type of Uberdruckventil (seems later than previous one), fitting to the holes in both Stahlunterstands.

Re: Panther Bodenturm
Just an idea: is it an idea to split this topic in a Stahlunterstand and Panzerbodenturm ?
These are different things or not ?

Re: Panther Bodenturm
Definitelly, there are some differences between them ..
Although, to understand the concept, in my opinion they should be compared side by side.
A post below I will also place in Stahlunterstand thread.
So - here is the reconstruction proposal. It seems like uberdtuckventil holes were prepared only for a new type ventil - UV1/150 (screw axis diameter - 205mm). Please notice, that I changed the position of the ventil comparing with suggestion a few days ago.
It's a bit curious, why two types of air intake were proposed for so similar structures? (screw axis diameter - 150mm in Pantrherturm and approx. 224mm in Stahlunterstand)
Next point is, that VW 1,2 too big to be installed in normal position (hole is very close to ceiling in both stahlunterstands); it needs additional "collar", or needs to be installed upside down, or it could be not installed at all (is it possible)?
