Re: 4 cm Bofors
What was the German opinion on the Bofors? How'd they compare it to the various 37mm they produced?
Re: 4 cm Bofors
The picture in post # 232 shows a Bofors abandoned in the harbor of Cherbourg in June 1940 after the evacuation of the British forces (Operation Aerial).

HI Geroge
The last two photos look like they are British guns. Both have the electro-hydralic motors for traverse and elevation which worked by being aimed by a Kerison director. This in theory meant only the loader was needed on the gun, he fired it by treading on foot trigger. The US Army also used this system, the Kerison director in US use was called the M5 Predictor. US gun crews had a cord tied around the pedal foot of the loader and the commander would pull it, and the loader's foot when he wanted to cease firing.
In the first photo it appears to be a captured example, where the crew seem to have tried to make it useless by removing the sights.

Top 2 British or Commonwealth guns indeed. Top one a captured gun in Greece or Crete, bottom one I think Tobruk.
