German Stencils

German Bunker Stencils

Inside the Bunkers built by the Nazis you will find writing, clearly stenciled on. Unfortunately there are no images of these stencils online, as I need them for a bunker restoration project (Vf2d at Wn. Schofeld, Guernsey) and I wondered if anyone could attach images of them as reference for a reproduction of the stencils, thanks!

There may have been an official stencil, but it is also quite possible that these were manufactured locally. The letters seem quite similar to the DIN 1451 typeface, so short of finding an official stencil you could use this font to design your own.

Hi Pagmon,

Have you tried contacting Festung Guernsey as they have repainted the stencils in the restored sites so may have a stencil for what you are looking for.

I have one. Found in 2011 in a bunker in Wilhelmshaven (Germany). A few months later a cover for one of the bunkers ventilationpipes was offered on ebay.

Nice one Ties.

Guess it was a regular LS-bunker in Wilhelmshaven?

Two questions:
- It's Rückwertige Anlage Schönfeld
- Why do you want to add writings inside a Vf while these texts can only be found in St-bunkers? The example you showed is for an Überdruckventil which can't be found in a Vf 2d anyway. These texts on Guernsey are all specific for St bunkers. You can't just copy them into a Vf. You're not restaurating then, but creating something that never existed. It happens all over the Atlantikwall in private museum bunkers and it's falsification of history.

Thanks for the information, but it is not a 'as it was' restoration, it is being used to showcase features across all the bunkers here, rather than just Vf. This is becuase it is in a school environment and is being used to teach about the occupation as a whole, not just Vf bunkers. One room will be as it was with no markings.

Hi, no, not a regular bunker, but a Kriegsmarine T-750 (Truppenmannschaftsbunker) for U-Boot personell.

Thanks Ties. Then for me a regular T-750 ;)

From one of the many that has been removed the past years?

Hi TUS, forgot to respond. Yes, one of the few that has been demolished around 2012/2013.
