Post by erik1939-1945 » 20 Oct 2006 08:05

hello

on our last trip to the Tromsö area / Norway we visited MKB 3./512 Lyngen (later 1./972 HKB Lygen) and found this nice gun emplacement. more details and further infos of this trip can be found on our homepage.
maybe anyone got a drawing for this bunker ? and the original named type ?
the emplacement was build 4 times there for the main guns.

thanks & greetings

Hello

I think that this bunker is a M 175 , this bunker was planned in Holland several times in M.K.B. Wijk ,
Langerak and Scheveningen-Nord (all used the modern 15 cm naval gun) but never build .
Beside the one found by Erik R at M.K.B. Lyngen there were also build in the M.K.B. Skrolsvik but these
one were without entrance defence .
Some sources names the bunker at Lyngen a M 180 but on the original plan of this bunker it's was called
"Geschutzbettung fur Mittelbatterie 17 cm S.K.L/40 , personel I think the M175 was designed for the
15 cm S.K.C/28 and Tbts.K./36 .

Regards Jos

Hello

I have seen some picture's on Kystfort Forum of this bunker , but to me it looks like a
gun emplacement for a H.K.B. gun . Who can help me out here with the bunkerplan or
what type of gun was used ?? 15 cm S.K.C/28 or a gun on wheels .

Regards Jos
