The "Destroyed bunkers" thread

Post by Erik E » 06 Nov 2006 21:48

After a tip from one of our members, this sticky was created in order to post photos of bunkers which are now gone.... Guess this will be a sad but important thread!

So.... Try to include atleast location (City + country), type, when it was destroyed.
And if possible why it was destroyed.

Given it visable size, it seems that destroying history so that you may have 3 extra car-parking spaces, is rather extreme.

What happened to the turret?

What about the 640 at St Cécile or Fort Mahon?
I always mix those places up.

Type: Sk
Place: Servaesbolwerk, centre of Utrecht
Why: Make place for appartments (The bunker serves as foundation now)
When: 2004
Note: The appartments are actually quite beautiful and won a prestigous architectural price! But the story still stinks. :)
