Hi Jopaerya,

It is a Armstrong-Pozzuoli Obice da 305/17 italian howitzer with Garrone carriage of WW1.
They were also used in the Second World War.

Regards, Sturm78.

Hi Chazette,

I think that the weapon is a 305mm M16 Bofors coastal howitzer. Sweden sold some of those howitzers to Norway (according to my information 4 units delivered in 1920s, but only 2 ready in April 1940), so I guess that your picture was taken in Norway.

Regards, Sturm78.

Hi Peter

Looks like a Russian 7.62 cm witch was also used in the Stalin-line .

The tube is from a 76,2 mm Model 1902 gun. It was the most widely gun used by Imperial Russia in WW1.

Hello Alain and others,

the Bofors 305 mm howitzer on your picture was also used in MKB 3./516 Lödingen (part of Artilleriegruppe Ofotfjord), called Nes Fort by the norwegians after the war. The germans took over the guns in open emplacements. Later on the emplacements were covered with concrete roofs.
