standard 10.5cm leFH18 howitzer
By the way - the actual designation of this gun was just "le F H 18", without the calibre.

Here one can find some more exceptions: http://blogkaboom.blogspot.com/2017/06/ ... atkow.html , as many quite popular guns were actually designated differently than it's commonly thought. :)

May be a 10cm K18 but not hard to be sure without being able to determine the length of the barrel. Definitely that or a 15cm SFH 18 I would think. Of course it could also be a 15cm sFH 36 but that is a lot less likely.

It is an 15cm sFH18 howitzer. The step in the barrel is situated nearer of recoil mechanisms than in the 10.5cm K18 gun

Thanks a lot for your help, fert... :)

Was this gun is a competitor of the 47mm Bohler Mod.1935 or a design to replace it in the AT role? :?

Could it be this gun was a competitor not to the Bohler model 35 (47/32) but a few years later, to the improved model 38, also 47/40 cal?

UPDATE: I think this guns and one with L48 barrel were presented by Ansaldo in 1941.

Just one formal notice - actual designations of these guns were: s F H 18, s F H 36 and s 10 cm K 18. 8-)

Hi
Ansaldo gun was tested up to 1943 when finally dropped, this gun had nothing to do with tank gun.
47/40 used on thank M15/42 ( not official nomenclature 47/40 model 1938 IMHO a wrong nomenclature) was an enlarged 47/32 with long barrel. Official source didn't say who made this "update".
