Unknow gun
Re: Unknow gun
Hi all,
I found this image on Ebay. I think the gun is a 155mm Schneider Mle 1917 ( 15.5 cm K. 416f ) but I am not sure.
This gun have not shield and and I do not see the large handwheel to the left of the gun typical of this gun.
Sorry for the small size of the image

Anymore info Sturm? Is it the Aegian?
Re: Unknow gun
Sturm78,
I agree with you. The breach is typical of the 155 mm L Mle 1917. The wheels fit too. The 155 mm L Mle 1918 Schneider had no shield but the breach and the wheels were totally different. I've seen pictures of 10,5 cm K331(f) and 15,5 cm K416(f) in coastal batteries with their shields removed. It made the guns lighter and thus, easier to rotate.
With the snow on the ground, it could be Norway.

Re: Unknow gun
Hi Sturm
The guns are Danish 12 cm coastal guns model 1912, "12 cm h.S.K. L/45 M/12".
It would seem that they were emplaced on the Danish fort "Dragørfort", already in May 1940 they were dismantled and moved to Skagen.

Re: Unknow gun
Hi Sturm78
No, they are "17 cm S.K. L/40 M/89" on Dragørfort.
The guns seem to have been so old that the Germans never concidered using them elsewhere or in the fort which for most of the war was used as baracks for a recruit training battery.
Best regards
Jens

Re: Unknow gun
Hello
What type mortar is this?
Photo is made in Kiew 1941. It can be a Russian 229mm M92 which was captured by the Germans. Who knows for sure?
The caption on ebay said 33cm piece.
